We’ve been talking electric vehicles for a couple of posts and even shown you a few that can be in your driveway today. For the most part they look like any other car on the road and if you do the conversion yourself they are exactly like any other car on the road. So if you’re hesitating about electric simply because they’re kind of ordinary we have the blog for you.
From Audi to Porsche the concept car is going electric. And unlike the concept car of old these may just see the light of day and the envy of your neighbors.
Citroen Survolt- we’ve covered electric cars before but not like this one. How about a pure electric dream? Zero to 62 in 5.0 seconds with no gear shifting and a reported 124 miles before recharge. And it’s pretty! Sign us up.

Unveiled at the 2010 Paris auto show another electric gem is the Jaguar C-X75. It’s a dual power vehicle with batteries augmented with, get this, twin gas turbines. Yes, that’s right, jet engines. This beauty will go into production in or around 2013. But alas, the production model won’t have the jets.

Another hybrid dream mobile is the Porsche 918 Spyder. Scheduled to go into production in late 2013 this beauty has 770 horsepower (in case you’d like to head into space apparently) a carbon-fiber reinforced shell and the abject terror of actually leaving it parked anywhere. All this for the bargain price of $845,000.

The Audi E Tron, while sounding like a Disney movie that didn’t need a sequel, is actually a pretty serious hybrid automobile. Interested in 0-62 in 4.4? 155 mph? How about both with the added bonus of 106 miles per gallon diesel/electric hybrid powertrain? Oh and it also looks like a million bucks. Or $5 million as the concept car is billed at.
