Great work from the mechanics, but they need to get a better system figured out by the main person in control of taking calls. Ross, while although professional in conversation, does not value the time of costumers in a way that is respectful. If you want clear communication about the status of your vehicle and to be informed about repair options for your car, don’t expect Ross to reach out. You will have to call on your own to get things figured out, and in doing so you will most likely get the unfortunate news that Ross is “behind the 8-ball” today. I was hesitant to write this review, but for the third time now I have been the victim of Ross’s poor communication and decision management. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt: Salas overall is a great mechanic, and they might be so busy that Ross is overloaded and cannot properly preform his duties.

Joe, thank you for your honest feedback. We truly appreciate you acknowledging the great work from our mechanics, and we’re sorry to hear that your experience with our communication fell short—especially more than once. That’s not the standard we strive for. We take customer communication seriously, and your comments have been shared with our team so we can address where we’ve missed the mark. We understand how important timely updates and respectful interactions are, and we’re actively working on improving our follow-up process. Thank you for giving us the benefit of the doubt and for continuing to trust us with your vehicle. We’re committed to making it right moving forward.

I’m pretty sure because we have out of state plates, Sallas quoted us pricing three times the highest amount estimated online for the possible work we needed. $1200 to maybe fix the issue with $3000 if the 1200 doesn’t work. Huh? Disappointing. We used Sallas on the Kansas side for years, moved out of the region and are now moving back to the Missouri side. Paid them $150 for the maybe diagnosis and will look elsewhere for a second and hopefully non discriminatory opinion.

I swear by Sallas. With being a single woman who doesn't know about cars. Out of the 3 vehicles they have touched of mine, NEVER. Have I felt screwed around or like I was being hustled. Very kind, very informative, very understanding. Even my daughter goes to them and feels safe. It's the service & customer service for me!

LeKila, thank you so much for the kind words and trust! We’re honored to be your go-to shop and truly appreciate the confidence you place in us. It means a lot to know you and your daughter both feel safe and supported here. We’ll always take the time to be informative, transparent, and treat you with the respect you deserve. Thanks again for being part of the Sallas family!

I was not very happy with prices at this shop. I compared local prices and by far this shop was the most expensive. I felt like I got ripped off when I asked to have a diagnostics done. I got charged 141 for a noise test when my Cadillac was not drivable . I ended up paying for another diagnostics at the same price for my cooling systems to see what the problem was with my ac…. The ac and the motor cooling system on my vehicle are two different systems! So I did not get the actual problem diagnosed. I had to pay for another vehicle while I waited for my Escalade to be fixed and the last two days I got the loner car. My Escalade was in this shop for over 1 week . Out the door cost to get 2 diagnostics and a wheel bearing fixed was 950 $ this was a Hugh rip off . To replace a radiator in my car they said over 1000 and then diagnosed my rack and pinion to be replaced for over 1000 also and I just got that replaced new one year before . The mechanic that gave me the diagnostic was jeramiah and I don’t think he was very honest about what I needed done and for the price they were willing to do the work. I had my car inspected at another shop for much cheaper and I had an inspection done and what this man said was wrong with my vehicle was and that I needed fixed was only partly true. The only good thing I have to say is Kelly gave me a 75 $ discount and I was not sure why but I was very greatful for that compassion . She was pleasant to talk with also . But I do have to give this shop a 1 star I think the work could of been explained and the mechanic could of been more honest and the price should be more affordable and options should have been talked about when it came to the diagnostics test. But what really grinds my gears is the fact I had my rack and pinion replaced and jeramiah was charging me way more then I paid to have it done the first time and it was new and did NOT need replaced , he seen oil on it and then wanted to charge me to have the entire thing redone ! That’s crap …. I’m a single mother with 3 children and I trusted my vehicle at this shop bc when you google them they say fair pricing , honest and that they will talk you through the repairs and I do d not feel that was true . they also have the loner vehicles but not at your convience so that was just more money I was out … If you want to get ripped off and mislead this is the place to go ! Make sure your doing your research on parts and cost I’m glad I did !

We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet the standards we strive for. We take pride in clear communication and transparency, and it sounds like we fell short in fully walking you through the inspection process. We should have taken more time to explain the testing we performed and review the inspection photos with you directly. If your rack and pinion was recently replaced, we recommend returning to the original shop for a potential warranty — unfortunately, new parts can still fail, and in your case, a leak was found. As far as pricing, we offer a 2 year/ 24k mile nationwide warranty and we focus on quality parts to avoid situations like this which. Most reputable shops offer some sort of a warranty so had we known that you had the rack and pinion recently replaced we would have recommended taking it back to them. Regarding the loaner vehicle, we do our best to accommodate each request, but with a limited number available, scheduling can be a challenge. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We never intend to mislead our customers and are truly sorry if it came across that way. We value your feedback and are always looking to improve.
